Batman #8 Review

Batman #8

So lets play a little catch up for those who have not read any of the first 7 issue’s-

The first story arc out of the title, "The Court of Owls", focuses on Batman’s discovery of a secret society in Gotham City that he had never seriously known about before, dating back to the time of Gotham’s founding and his ancestor Alan Wayne. The story arc led to the first major post-New 52 crossover, "Night of Owls".

Issue 8- We now begin "Night of the Owls"

We enter by seeing the Wayne Manor is now under attack, this begins the backup story NOTO.  Since bruce has retreated back home the owls are coming for him.

Alfred is startled hears a noise with Bruce by his side then the action begins with Bruce fighting all over the house and roofs and takes us to the batcave.  So once the actions flows the cave Bruce breaks out his new Batsuit! it’s a kick-ass human mech type suit.  Batman then tells the owls to get out his house!!!

You can see the Batman familiar in his home, but the action switch’s to the owls taking out key figures around Gotham City.  This will bring in other batbooks into play for this big story arc.

Scott Snyder is a young and brilliant writer, they way he sets up a story is showing me that this guy is going to be a mainstay DC Comics go to writer.  But his growth in Batman has just really begun, that’s scary because i can compare him to geoff johns but Scott’s writing is just pure gothic!  it fits the man in the cowl.

Greg Capullo…..what can i say that i have not said before, he is the greatest artist to touch pencil to paper.  i’m sure those that grew up with jack kirby can say that if there was no kirby, greg would not be here.  that might be true but lets take both men at their peak and judge.  To me Greg gets my vote!

This book as far as story and art is a must for comic fans, i am giving it 9/10.

my only knock is DC changed the price from 2.99 to 3.99.  smh
