Since The Green Lantern Animated Series was first announced I have been overly excited about this show.  Now, as of its airing I find myself hooked on it being the newly obsessed Green Lantern fan that I am. I try my best never to miss an episode, but let’s face it sometimes we all stress finding the time. That is where the most recent news for The Green Lantern Animated Series comes into play in the first DVD release of The Green Lantern Animated Series currently labeled “Rise of the Red Lanterns” set to be released August 28^th 2012 from Warner Home Video, the DVD will also feature a preview of The Green Lantern: The Animated Series comic book which had its first release in a thirty two page debut comic book Green Lantern: The Animated Series #0 released on November 30^th 2011.

Thus far the TV show was nominated for two awards during the February 12^th 2012 Annie Awards in Royce Hall, Los Angeles California for “Best music in a television production: Frederik Wiedmann and for Best general audience animated production.” The first DVD will be season one part one and will feature the first thirteen episodes of the show. May 26, 2012 will be the thirteenth episode of the show to air. What this boils down to is a good animated TV show based on adventures in the world of Green Lantern and a green blast for the whole family.
