Game Update 13 DCUO
DCUO recently release Game update, and one of the most exciting things (at least for me) has to be the token of merit and the return of the spring seasonal event. The token of merits rewards your hard work for collecting tokens, it adds feats by consuming the new token of merits. Its a great way to add to your skill points and if your close to hit that next skill point this is a great way to reach it. This is great and gives another reason to revisit alerts and keep grinding for marks. Also the seed pods are back and for the lower CR players the trinket is a must have for the feat and the great trinket, in my opinion it is second best to the Central City Trinket. Happy Spring guys!!!
Spring Seasonal Event!
The Spring Seasonal Event has returned! Poison Ivy is wreaking havoc with the people of Gotham’s allergies and it’s only getting worse. Luckily for the innocents, Swamp Thing is calling for help in thwarting Poison Ivy’s plans. Relive the events from last year or, if you missed them, don’t miss them again!
New Tokens of Merit!
You’ve worked hard, and it’s time you got credit! You can now turn your unused and excess Marks into Feats, and watch your Feat and Skill Points shoot up! Tokens of Merit vendors are now available and can be found in the Watchtower War Room and the Hall of Doom Pit areas. Tokens of Merit can be purchased using all existing PvE, PvP, and Seasonal currencies. These can be consumed and used for new Tokens of Merit feats!
DC Collectibles Expanded Online Store Now Open for Business
Thanks to Brandy Phillips at DC Comics for announcing this fantastic news:
The newly expanded DC Collectibles online store, featuring high-end collectible products and toys based on characters from DC Comics, Vertigo and MAD, is now live and open for business: www.shopdcentertainment.com. Following last month’s re-branding announcement the launch of an expanded online store is the second phase of DC Direct’s transformation into DC Collectibles. The newly expanded store now offers the entire DC Collectibles product line as well as new “online exclusives.”
The first two online exclusives are available for purchase during the month of May. The first is a Flashpoint Action Figure Box Set including: Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and a previously unreleased Emperor Aquaman. The set also include a $500 Wayne Casino Poker Chip. The second exclusive is a Heroes of the DC Universe: Blackest Night Green Lantern and Sinestro Bust.
For those fans who prefer to purchase a product in-store, the new online store also provides information on the closest retail location that carries a particular DC Collectibles product.
Mark Hamill And All-Star VO Cast Return to DCUO
Straight from DCUO Headquarters-
Sony Online Entertainment has revealed the voice cast behind the characters in DC Universe Online’s latest DLC pack — The Last Laugh. The DLC pack features returning voices of some of the biggest stars of DC Universe, including voiceover veterans Mark Hamill (The Joker), Adam Baldwin (Superman) and Arleen Sorkin (Harley Quinn).
The Last Laugh will include an all-new weapon, hours of multiplayer gameplay in the Safe Houses and Headquarters, and new Legends PvP characters:
- The Shield - Players can unleash this vicious new weapon to bash their opponents, or hurl it to take them down from a distance.
- Safe House Battles - No one is safe now that heroes and villains can invade each other’s Safe Houses in these four on four battles:
- Graviton Technology Recovery - Players will be tasked with unscrambling teleporter codes that The Joker has mixed into fragments. Located at the Watchtower or Hall of Doom, players must retrieve eight code fragments to successfully rebuild useable teleporter codes.
- The Rescue - Heroes must rescue hostages, while Villains will be freeing arrested criminals from opposing Safe Houses.
- Bomb Disposal - Thanks to The Joker, the encryption on the email terminals have changed and can only be bypassed by the robot he provided. Players must gain control of the robot and either upload the data to their HQ or add new encryption to keep their enemies and The Joker away from it.
- Headquarter Battles – In this two-part crusade, 16 players — eight heroes and eight villains — will face off for the ultimate player reward. At the request of Superman, heroes must take over the Hall of Doom, while villains, egged on by The Joker, will breach the Watchtower in order to create chaos.
- Legends Characters - Combat illuminates with the introduction of the first light-powered Legends for multiplayer combat. Players will soon have access to Kilowog, a Green Lantern, and Amon Sur, a member of the Sinestro Corps.
DCUO’s The Last Laugh DLC pack will be accessible for free for the game’s Legendary members and available for purchase for Free and Premium players via the PlayStation®Network in-game Marketplace, and on the PC via the DCUniverseOnline.com website.
Batman #8 Review
So lets play a little catch up for those who have not read any of the first 7 issue’s-
The first story arc out of the title, "The Court of Owls", focuses on Batman’s discovery of a secret society in Gotham City that he had never seriously known about before, dating back to the time of Gotham’s founding and his ancestor Alan Wayne. The story arc led to the first major post-New 52 crossover, "Night of Owls".
Issue 8- We now begin "Night of the Owls"
We enter by seeing the Wayne Manor is now under attack, this begins the backup story NOTO. Since bruce has retreated back home the owls are coming for him.
Alfred is startled hears a noise with Bruce by his side then the action begins with Bruce fighting all over the house and roofs and takes us to the batcave. So once the actions flows the cave Bruce breaks out his new Batsuit! it’s a kick-ass human mech type suit. Batman then tells the owls to get out his house!!!
You can see the Batman familiar in his home, but the action switch’s to the owls taking out key figures around Gotham City. This will bring in other batbooks into play for this big story arc.
Scott Snyder is a young and brilliant writer, they way he sets up a story is showing me that this guy is going to be a mainstay DC Comics go to writer. But his growth in Batman has just really begun, that’s scary because i can compare him to geoff johns but Scott’s writing is just pure gothic! it fits the man in the cowl.
Greg Capullo…..what can i say that i have not said before, he is the greatest artist to touch pencil to paper. i’m sure those that grew up with jack kirby can say that if there was no kirby, greg would not be here. that might be true but lets take both men at their peak and judge. To me Greg gets my vote!
This book as far as story and art is a must for comic fans, i am giving it 9/10.
my only knock is DC changed the price from 2.99 to 3.99. smh
