The CW Greenlights a Full Season Order for Arrow

It's time to celebrate. The CW has announced some great news for DC & Green Arrow fans. Arrow has been picked up by the network for a full season, making the episode total 22 for Arrow's freshman year!

THE CW ORDERS FULL SEASON OF BREAKOUT HIT “ARROW”

October 22, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – The CW picked up a full season of its breakout hit drama ARROW, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

“Our strategy of rolling out our new fall schedule later in the year really paid off for The CW on several levels, especially with ARROW, which was the network’s most watched premiere in three years and is one of the breakout hits of the new season,” said Pedowitz. “I’m proud of the quality of ARROW and I’m happy we’ll be able to share more of it with viewers.”

ARROW scored a bull’s-eye for The CW with its premiere, which drew 4.14 million viewers, making it the network’s most watched telecast of any show, on any night, in three years. The ARROW debut also marked The CW’s most watched series premiere since THE VAMPIRE DIARIES in 2009. In its second outing, ARROW became the only new network drama this season to maintain its audience in both adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 from its premiere to its second week.

ARROW is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.

WB TONES DOWN BATMAN

Word came out via Variety that Warner Bros is looking to tone down the violence in the new cartoon series "Beware" (of the Batman).

Enlightened by the events following the Colorado shootings, WB wants to take a closer look at the series. They've asked for a review of the show's content to ensure they are socially considerate after the tragic events that happened during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises.

Now, no one from WB has commented, but you can rest assured meetings and phone calls have taken place.

My Thoughts: It is a show for kids. But remember, when we were kids we knew when Elmer Fudd was trying to shoot Bugs Bunny it was all fun and games. Do not insult children by treating them with kid gloves. The gunman was clearly not in his right mind and needs psychiatric help.

But I do see WB's side in this situation. They are sensitive to this traumatic event & don't want to draw any bad publicity. It's a tough situation that can put WB between a rock and a hard place.

Man of Steel Poster & Trailer Revealed at Comic-Con

A teaser poster was revealed by Warner Bros during the Man of Steel panel at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this afternoon.

The poster provides a profile image of Henry Cavill as Superman in shadows.

For those that were unable to see the Man of Steel footage presented in Comic-Con's illustrious Hall H, fear not. The Man of Steel trailer will be attached to the Dark Knight Rises when it debuts July 20th. The clip will be 1:27 minutes in length & currently has a G-Rating.

No New DC Movie Projects Until 2015

The Dark Knight Rises is less than ten days away. The Man of Steel will come out June 14th, 2013. And then? It looks like DC live action movies may be taking a slight hiatus.

It is being reported that there are currently no DC movies in development that have "a producer, director or cast, save for Zack Snyder's $200-million-plus Man of Steel." And according to "knowledgeable" sources close to Warner Bros, it will be at least "three years before a new DC title hits the big screen…" Three years… THREE YEARS!?!

This news comes swiftly after Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan confirmed this weekend that he won't be involved in any future DC films for the foreseeable future.

Warner Bros film group President Jeff Robinov however is attempting to put a postive spin on this sad news. "My hope is that over the next month or so we'll be ready to lay out the plan for the next DC movies."

“Man of Steel” at Comic-Con

Rabid fans from around the world make their annual pilgramage to San Diego to get an overload of Geektastic fodder at Comic-Con International. This year, the San Diego Convention Center is sure to be packed from July 12th to the 15th.

Warner Bros. will add to the festivities by showcasing next year's Man of Steel movie on Saturday, July 14th.

From 2:30 to 5:00pm Warner Bros. Pictures & Legendary Pictures will preview their upcoming films. They will start with Pacific Rim, followed by Man of Steel, & concluding with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The Man of Steel preview will take place in Hall H.
